We associate personality with the particular traits or characteristics of a certain person.
“Personality is a dynamic organisation, inside the person, of psychophysical systems that create the person’s characteristic patterns of behaviour, thoughts and feelings”.
G.W. Allport, 1961
According to that, personality would have a great impact on the individual performance of an employee.
For a company certain types of personality are more desirable than others, but the challenge for managers is to correctly guide its employees in spite their personality.

on the other hand Perception According to the Oxford Dictionary, refers to “the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses”, and also as “the neurophysiological processes, including memory, by which an organism becomes aware of and interprets external stimuli”... Then, perception si influenced by both internal and external factors.
In a lot of occasions, perception is not always aligned with reality, is easy to jump to the wrong conclusion if we don’t look a little bit further. The following video shows exactly what I mean….
Why is important for managers and employees to be able to understand different types of personalities?
A manager must know his or her employess in order to understand their behavior. Some people are more complex than others. A person is not only what you can see but what is underneath.
a lot of conflicts in the workplace are related with clashes of personality. A manager must have the habilit to distinguish when the problem is real and when is just becasue some employee has a bad temper o something alike.
for example, when some people talk they might seem not quite intelligent because he or she doesn't say much, but in reality that person might be just shy.
